We have been invited to perform at the Trombone Day at Tennessee Tech University. This is an event we have played at multiple times over the years and always provides us a wonderful experience. This year, Dr. Joshua Hauser will have as guest clinician [CLINICIANS_NAME_HERE]. The day will include group warm-ups, master class, massed choir rehearsal and performance and performances by several trombones ensembles including our own Atlanta Trombone Ensemble.
In preparation for giving our best effort for performances, we ask for a targeted commitment from individuals opting in to participate that will include performance date and 2 or 3 “closed” rehearsals. Rehearsals designated as “closed” are still on our regular day/time on Thursdays and will have ONLY those persons performing on the designated performance. Music will be assigned (and delivered) based on personnel available to perform.
I urge you to participate in performances. While Trombone Thursday’s are certainly fun, we have primarily been a performance based ensemble. We try to schedule meaningful performances playing challenging music for appreciative audiences.
